Petersfield based IT Consultant Alex Soar is the winner of the 2015 Go4it Racing prize draw with Aston Villa first team coach Stiliyan ‘Stan’ Petrov picking out Alex’s ticket when the draw was made earlier this week.

Alex wins a fantastic prize worth in excess of £7K which includes:

· BRSCC membership fees & registration to the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship
· Entry fees for four rounds
· Use of a fully race prepared MX-5 mk1 and trailer for those rounds.
· Running with Go4itRacing as their 3rd driver
· As a novice, Go4itRacing will also cover the fees for Alex to take his ARDS test

Alex has had an avid fascination with cars and motorsport since his teens and his partner Felicity bought the winning entry for him as a 33rd birthday present when as BRSCC members they attended the Autosport Show in January.

Go4it Racing was formed by Martin Tolley and Kevin Brent, both competitors in the MX-5 Championship and Kevin explained the idea behind the prize draw. “Martin and I met through Mazda racing and both of us came to motorsport in our 40’s having spent years thinking about it but never taking the plunge. In the end we each made the decision to ‘Go4it’ and we thought it would be a great idea if we could help someone new take the same step”.

Alex, who works for Guildford Borough Council, said “A huge thank you to the Go4it Racing guys for the opportunity to race in the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship and thanks to Stiliyan Petrov for picking the ticket. I’m really looking forward to the experience and meeting everyone else involved with the championship. I can definitely say I’m absolutely shocked, excited and petrified all at once – I can’t wait to start racing!”

Kevin added “Martin and I are delighted to welcome Alex to the team and he will be driving our car number 32. We set up Go4itRacing with the aim of helping someone new into motorsport and with Alex we have a real enthusiast who has not yet been able to go for it. We look forward to helping Alex get out on the track and racing with him!

“We would especially like to thank the sponsors of the draw MX5 City, the Mazda MX-5 specialists and Creative Touch Design for their support as well as the BRSCC – without each of whom none of this would have been possible. The charity we have chosen to support is the Stiliyan Petrov Foundation and we are donating £1 from every draw entry as well as collecting throughout the season at the meetings. Stiliyan’s support for what we are doing is fantastic”

Alex will make his racing debut when the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship gets underway on the Silverstone National circuit over the weekend of 4/5th April.
