ANGLESEY AWAITS

CATEGORIES:

Our ever busy North Western Centre is back at the Ty Croes circuit on the beautiful island of Anglesey for a two day meeting this weekend.

The Race Weekend features a mixture of BRSCC and guest championships totalling 17 races over both days. The Creative LED Solutions Club Formula Ford NW Championship is back at Anglesey for the first time since the season opener in April. Nigel Thompson, who leads Ian Parkington in the Pre 90 category, will be hoping to repeat his back to back wins to increase his lead. In the Post 89 section, Simon Kinsey will be keen to capitalise on the absence of Rory Butcher and Scott Malvern, who stand first and second in the points table.

The BRS Recovery Ford XR Challenge is also back on familiar ground and Simon Robinson and Michael Blackburn will be renewing their battle for top dog status in the XR2’s. Matters are even tighter in the XR3i category where Chris Flynn, Marcus Riley and David Bennett are all very much in contention for the title.

Another championship back on home turf of sorts is the Legends, whose admin offices are on the circuit. The 5/8th scale cars are based on American NASCAR racers of the 1930’s and 24 of them zipping around the circuit in 4 quick-fire races is always a spectacle.

The biggest single grid of the meeting is providing by the North West based Performance & Economy Chip Tuning Sports and Saloon Championship, who will field an impressive 26 cars.

Completing the line-up is the MG Trophy, which is the premier championship of the MG Car Club, and the Cockshoot Cup, the trophy for which is a solid silver cup dating back to the 30’s.
