Help! Gold Cup Book
HELP REQUIRED FOR
OULTON PARK GOLD CUP BOOK
Mike Allen is putting together what should be a fascinating book about the International Gold Cup at Oulton Park from the inaugural event in 1954 onwards. He is looking to cover each meeting that hosted the most prestigious race in the history of the Tarporley track including the support events.
Rather than a series of lap by lap reports, Mike is hoping to produce something with more depth and would like to hear from drivers, mechanics, spectators, marshals and officials. Allen says "I’m especially interested in those who competed and even on those occasions when they didn’t compete, I would like to know why they were unable to make the grid. The more bizarre the story, the better! Marshals also played a big part - getting people out of the lake for example! - and they often had the opportunity to talk to the drivers."
