FORMULA JEDI REBRANDS TO BECOME BRSCC F1000 CHAMPIONSHIP

The UK’s premier bike engined single seater championship has a new name. Formula Jedi has relaunched as the BRSCC F1000 Championship, capitalising on twenty years of ‘slicks ‘n wings’ development that has turned the Jedi marque into a 1000cc high performance machine. What driver doesn’t dream of 0 to 60 in under 3 seconds, a top speed of 150 mph and engine revs topping 14000rpm?
“The Jedi is one of the fastest and most affordable single seater racing cars in the UK and we feel the name F1000 now better reflects this”, says Frazer Corbyn, of Jedi Racing Cars based in Wellingborough. “ The racing is really competitive but with a great atmosphere amongst the drivers in the paddock, and we’re keen to encourage not only newcomers but also others to return to the championship and race with us, even if you may not be at the sharp end of the grid. We’re working on various initiatives to make it motivating for drivers and teams to do just that.”
The top four drivers in the current championship are currently separated by only 13 points, again demonstrating how competitive these cars are on track. With 11 races still to go, at Castle Combe, Silverstone National, Rockingham and finally at Oulton Park, there is still all to play for.
New awards will be added at forthcoming events, including Technician of the Meeting and Driver of the Meeting, both sponsored by Sonic/Damar International. “We believe it’s important to support teams both on and off the track,” says David Martin CEO of Damar International, “and our Sonic Brand matches the quality and performance of these cars.”
Corbyn added, “We’re hopeful a number of drivers will be joining the revised F1000 championship and certainly the interest for 2018 is already looking very positive. We also offer ‘Arrive and Drive’ packages as well as trial days for anyone who wants to go racing. Both new and second hand cars are also available.
Aware of motor sport budgets, the BRSCC F1000 Championship will continue to provide cost effective racing, where a budget to competitively run your own car can be for as little as under £10,000.00 per season.
Further developments will be added during this season and 2018 is expected to bring a number of revisions to the regulations all designed to attract competitors to the grid.
The formal launch of the BRSCC F1000 Championship will be at Castle Combe on 15/16 July 2017.
