EA RESCUE UNIT DOES IT FOR CHARITY

CATEGORIES:

The East Anglian Centre crew at the Suffolk Motorsports Show

Last Sunday the East Anglian Centre Rescue Unit & crew did their bit for charity as the vehicle was on display at the Suffolk Motorsports Show, the primary aim of which is to raise money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance Charity.

The weather was hot and the crowds turned up in numbers on Angel Hill in Bury St Edmunds for what was the second event in the show’s history. The crew displayed some of their heavy cutting gear along with other extraction and medical kit. They also handed out BRSCC marshalling availability forms, VIM information, the BRSCC DVD on How to start motor racing and MSVR fixture booklets. Several people showed genuine interest in becoming marshals at Snetterton so the exercise was worthwhile.

Set against the backdrop of the historic abbey, about forty vehicles were on display ranging from an F1 Jordan, Gulf Porsche 917, Historic rally and sports cars, various single seaters, grass track cars and also the new 2010 World Hot Rod champion Chris Haird with his Vauxhall Tigra.

The final figure is not in yet but I am told that a large sum has been raised for this worthwhile charity.
