FORD XR CHALLENGE EXPANDING

CATEGORIES:

News has been announced today that the Ford XR Challenge, current sponsored by BRS Recovery, will expand to four classes for the 2010 race season.

At present there are two classes covering the mid 1980s Ford Fiesta XR2 and Ford Escort XR3i, and these will be joined by the Fiesta 1600 Zetec (year 2000 model year) and Fiesta ST. All will run on the control Yokohama A048 'road' tyres.

Championship organiser Kevin Shortis said, "The XR Challenge is predominantly based in the North West with the majority of rounds at Oulton Park and Anglesey. We have had a lot of interest from potential competitors based in the area who have these newer models and would like to join the series. By creating these two extra classes we are giving them an opportunity to do just that so we expect a good take up to bolster the solid grids we currently enjoy."

Draft regulations are being finalised and any competitor who would like more information should contact Ford Racing UK by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or calling 07801 594022.
