JUNIOR FORMULA FORD TRYOUTS

CATEGORIES:

The organisers of the 2010 Junior Formula Ford Series have arranged a number of low-cost 'tryout' test days for prospective competitors for the new initiative which will run on the BRSCC calendar next season. The first of these days will take place next week at Silverstone on the 9th and 10th of November.

Series Director Ken Bowes comments “We have had a great deal of interest in the Series given that we haven't pushed the button yet on our marketing campaign. Of those enquiring, a number of people have asked whether we could arrange an opportunity for drivers to try the JFF car in a low-pressure and safe environment. Clearly a number of drivers considering a move from Karting do not yet hold a car racing competition licence, whereas others do so we have to plan the test days accordingly.”

Drivers attending the tryout days will receive initial coaching from hand-picked instructors in the fabulous Supercharged Lotus Exige Sports Cars provided by Silverstone Motorsport Academy. They will then undertake testing sessions in the Formula Ford cars on Silverstone's Stowe circuit, with the Instructors monitoring their performance and providing feedback after each session.

A car competition licence is not necessary for the ‘tryout’ days and the cost has been kept to a minimum at £850 per driver. Additional tryout test days are being planned throughout the winter.
