LMS FINALE AT SILVERSTONE

CATEGORIES:

The BRSCC Midland Centre is running one of the more prestigious meetings of the season this weekend as the international Le Mans Series roles into Silverstone for three days of sports car action.

The main feature is the Autosport 1,000KM race which will take place over a 170 laps of the Arena GP circuit starting on Sunday at 11:55 am. 46 race cars will line-up on the grid for what is the last race of the 2010 season.

This final race promises to be exciting as only one category, LMGT1, has declared it’s champion – Larbre Competition, who sealed the title at the Hungaroring last month. All other classes are up for grabs!

In LMP1, four teams can still claim the coveted crown: ORECA Matmut, Signature Plus, Audi Sport Team Joest and Rebellion Racing.

Local hero Danny Watts of Strakka Racing, together with his team mates Jonny Kane and Nick Leventis, will continue to take the fight to RML, the current leaders in LMP2.

In LMGT2, it’s a straight fight between Felbermayer and AF Corse. The Porsche 997GT3 RSR is in the best position to allow the Felbermayer team to impose itself on the final race but they will be fought tooth and nail to the chequered flag by the Ferrari F430GT from the Team AF Corse. The raging battle between the two manufacturers will be the talk of the paddock!

There should also be a fierce fight for the final victory in the FLM class where the two protagonists are Team DAMS and Team Hope Polevision.

Support races are provided by the Radical Masters, Speed Series and CER.
