MIDLANDS CENTRE WELCOMES BRITCAR 500

CATEGORIES:

Work has already begun for the BRSCC Midland Centre at Silverstone this weekend. Indeed it started this morning when they started signing-on drivers at 7.15am. It was the beginning of what will be a very busy three days for the Centre as the meeting features over 450 competitors, 13 championships/series and 20 races, including of course the star of the show, the Britcar 500 six hour endurance race.

Today’s action includes a full day of qualifying for the support races including the new Ma5da MX5 Autumn Championship, Porsche Club, Toyo Tyres Production, Sports 2000 Pinto’s and Formula Palmer Audi, culminating in the unique two-hour Britcar night qualifying at 8.05pm tonight.

There is a full programme of racing on Saturday, finishing with the top-billing Britcar 6-hour race. Almost 50 cars, including TV star Vicki Butler-Henderson in a Renault Clio, will take the 4pm starting flag, waved this year by 2008 hero Andy Neate. The action continues on Sunday, with Caterhams Superlights (R400 & R300s), Alfa Romeos, Mighty Minis, Super Mighty Minis, Ma5das, Sports 2000 Duratec and Dunlop MN Saloons.
