The FIA GT1 World Championship comes to Silverstone this weekend for a three day meeting that starts tomorrow morning and with officials from HQ and the Midlands Centre, the BRSCC are at the helm of the organising team.

The BRSCC Northern Centre is running their main meeting of the season this weekend featuring seventeen races over Saturday & Sunday. The roster of championships racing at Lincolnshire’s very own ‘mini-Nurburgring’ is a mixture of the Club’s own series and guests from the Scottish Motor Racing Club and the MGCC.

FORD ENDS STAFFORD'S WINNING STREAK
A total of ten races were served up for the Bank Holiday crowd on the new Snetterton 200 circuit last weekend, including a five hour endurance race for the FunCup, which now boasts championship status. The action started with the first of three Saker races, which was the UK debut for the new series that comes from the same stable as FunCup.

The BRSCC East Anglian Centre will achieve a series of firsts this Bank Holiday weekend at Snetterton. The race meeting will be the first run by the Club on the new 200 circuit; it will be the first time two meetings have been run simultaneously on different configurations, it will be the first time the 100 circuit is used and finally it will be the first time the Saker Series has run in the UK.

A successful debut outing in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship at Silverstone last year has prompted a full-season entry for 2011 from Iain Dockerill and Chad Racing, with BTCC star Steven Kane (pictured above) joining the team as Dockerill’s co-driver in the majority of the championship’s 10 races. They will drive a Ferrari 430 Scuderia backed by Green Apple Flooring.

The latest addition to the 2011 Volkswagen Racing Cup grid was unveiled yesterday at the Commercial Vehicle Show at Birmingham’s NEC. The new Caddy Racer will join the highly competitive FUCHS Lubricants-backed championship with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles director Simon Elliott once again behind the wheel.

Double headers were the order of last weekend at Silverstone with everyone down for at least two races and no fewer than seven drivers recording back-to-back outright or class wins! The BRSCC Open Sportscar Series (OSS) saw a brace of wins for Graham Cole's Jade Trakstar followed home in each race by 2010 champion Tony Sinclair (Jade 3) and Alan Hogg (Radical SR8).

The BRSCC Midland Centre AGM last week unexpectedly proved to be a significant event in the Club’s history. After all the regular AGM formalities were concluded Don Truman announced that he was stepping down from the Centre’s management committee - thus ending over 60 years of dedicated service to the BRSCC.

FF CHAMPION PYE ACCELERATES INTO F3
The reigning Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Champion of Great Britain, Scott Pye, is to graduate to Formula 3 this season, it was confirmed today. The 21-year-old Australian, who won 12 Formula Ford races on his way to the 2010 title with Jamun Racing, will contest British F3 with Double R Racing.

TWO CRS FERRARIS FOR BRITISH GT 2011
The 2008 Avon Tyres British GT champion team, CRS Racing, is to return to the series this season with a brace of Ferrari 458s. One will be raced by 2010 title runner-up Glynn Geddie and his father, Jim, and the other by ’07 Champion Alex Mortimer and Monaco-based driver Andrew Tate.
