News FORMULA JEDI REBRANDS TO BECOME BRSCC F1000 CHAMPIONSHIP
The UK’s premier bike engined single seater championship has a new name. Formula Jedi has relaunched as the BRSCC F1000 Championship, capitalising on twenty years of ‘slicks ‘n wings’ development that has turned the Jedi marque into a 1000cc high performance machine. What driver doesn’t dream of 0 to 60 in under 3 seconds, a top speed of 150 mph and engine revs topping 14000rpm?

The Britcover National Formula Ford 1600 Championship enjoyed an entertaining away round last weekend as the teams and drivers travelled across the Irish Sea to compete at the magnificent Kirkistown Circuit in Northern Ireland, situated in the east of the country near the coast.

The weather certainly wasn’t disappointing anyone this past weekend at Rockingham Motor Speedway in Corby as racing action took place on the ISSCL circuit in beautiful sunshine and very warm temperatures. That said, the drama and excitement on track was red hot, too.

The action on the circuit was as hot as the weather when the BRSCC’s North Western Centre organised a packed programme featuring no less than 13 races on a glorious Summer’s day at Oulton Park on 17th June. Marshals and officials did an excellent job to keep a tight timetable on schedule despite a short delay while repairs were made to a manhole cover at Hislops Chicane after a spinning car ripped it out of the ground.

The Cheshire countryside hosts the magnificent venue that is Oulton Park and today’s race day sees a multitude of sports car tackle the swoops and undulations of this awesome circuit with a little bit of tin-top and single seater action thrown in for good measure. For the first time this season, we take a trip to Corby in Northamptonshire as Rockingham Motor Speedway plays host to two days of tin-top and sportscar action in the International Super Sports Car Long Circuit. It’s incredible to think that we’ve already reached June, when some of our championships are now halfway through their season. That said, there’s plenty still to play for as title fights really begin to be defined.

Team Parker Racing’s Rick Parfitt Jnr and Seb Morris claimed a dominant victory in British GT’s blue riband, three-hour race - the Silverstone 500 - earlier today to blow this season’s GT3 Drivers’ title wide open. The Bentley pair finished a minute and three seconds ahead of Macmillan AMR’s Aston Martin V12 Vantage driven by James Littlejohn and Jack Mitchell, while Duncan Cameron and Matt Griffin’s Spirit of Race Ferrari 488 completed the podium. Together they represented three of the five manufacturers that finished in the top-five places.

Summer felt as though it had well and truly arrived this past weekend at Snetterton as the BRSCC East Anglian Centre hosted its second meeting of the season with a true mixture of disciplines and machinery on display. The racing didn’t disappoint as drivers jostled for position and silverware all weekend.

After our first visit to Snetterton amidst sunny skies back in April, those same conditions look set to greet us on our second trip to Norfolk, where a mix of disciplines are ready to battle it out on the 300 Circuit’s long straights. Expect plenty of slipstreaming and overtaking this weekend as championships make their way towards the half way point in the season.

British GT’s annual blue riband event - the Silverstone 500 - promises plenty of cut-and-thrust multi-class action around the Home of British Motor Racing this weekend. With the season reaching its halfway mark and the maximum 37.5 points up for grabs, there’s no better time for GT3 and GT4 title contenders to stamp their authority on this year’s championship.

The BRSCC South Eastern Centre’s second race meeting of the season took place over the weekend of June 3-4 with a 15-race programme (reduced from 16) billed as the BRSCC Caterham Race Weekend, as usual over Brands Hatch’s 1.208 mile Indy Circuit. Both mornings dawned overcast, but we had two rain-free days.

Brands Hatch in Kent is “our local” if you want to use that term and it’s always a joy when another race meeting at one of the world’s greatest circuits rolls around on our calendar. As Summer begins to make its long awaited return, we’re in store for some fine racing action here this weekend with epic and exciting sprint races mixed in amongst a fascinating 4-hour endurance race. Action aplenty is definitely what’s in store.

A mixture of cloudy skies and bright sunshine coupled with humid temperatures made sure the BRSCC Race Weekend on the Silverstone National circuit was always going to be interesting. This proved to be the case as the racing became heated in more ways than one with 21 races proving an entertaining mix.
