It has been a very long wait for the drivers in the BRSCC OSS Championship, but their season finally gets underway at Snetterton this weekend with races on Saturday and Sunday, albeit in two different meetings!

Saturday's 20 minute encounter is part of the BRSCC East Anglian Centre's Fun Cup Raceday and will be run on the 300 circuit, while Sunday's double-header is part of the Time Attack Modified Live event and will take place on the 200 configuration. On Saturday the competitors will not only be fighting for championship points but also for the prestigious Archie Scott-Brown Trophy, awarded by tradition now to the OSS Championship by the BRSCC East Anglian Centre.

The BRSCC OSS Championship has been rejuvenated for the new season with a reworked format of 3 races and a major change to the class structure to make the Championship more appealing to 'closed top' sports prototypes. The new class structure is:

Class A Over 2001cc
Class B 1501 to 2000cc
Class C 1301 to 1500cc
Class D 1001 to 1300cc
Class E Up to 1000cc
Class F Closed top non motorcycled engined cars over 2001cc New for 2013
Class G Closed top non motorcycled engined cars up to 2000cc New for 2013
Class H Motorcycle engined single-seaters with sports prototye bodywork. Eg Speads, Stohr, JKS

The new Championship format has certainly appealed to the sports prototype racing fraternity with an OSS record entry so expect to see some fast and furious racing and look out for the Class B competitors, including 2012 champion Darcy Smith, who will be taking the race to the Class A guys.
