PYE SETS THE FESTIVAL PACE

Australian Scott Pye laid down a marker at Brands Hatch yesterday in the Duratec section of the Festival seeting the quickest pace over both heats to put him on pole in the first of today's quarter finals. The newly crowned champion of the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain won the Future Events sponsored heat from Peter Dempsey and Cypriot Tio Ellinas.

Dane Dennis Lind won the second Durtaec heat, sponsored by Dunlop, with James Tucker and Dan De Zille second and third respectively.

In the two Kents heats Ultserman Ivor McCullough won the Aireshelta sponsored heat and Ireland's Noel Dunne took the chequered flag in the Weller Wheels/Motorsport Events heat.

Neil Tofts, who is chasing down a hat-trick of Zetec titles, showed his class with a comfortbale win from Julian Hoskins & Paul Britten in the Communicate Recruitment Solutions Zetec heat.
