A sunny Oulton Park on Easter Sunday saw the #4 Oman Racing Team Aston Martin of driver pairing Ahmad Al Harthy and Michael Caine shine on its way to victory in the first race of the 2014 Avon Tyres British GT Championship, whilst GT4 honours went to the #407 Beechdean AMR of Ross Wylie and Jake Giddings.

Having qualified on pole, Al Harthy was able to take advantage of a clear track ahead to stretch out a lead at the front, with only the interference of the back-markers and then a Safety Car to interrupt proceedings before he handed over the #4 Aston for Caine to continue the charge.

Commenting on his perfect start Ahmad Al Harthy said, “The team did a great job everywhere, and with everything. We're happy with the car, we're happy with the team and it is a team win.”

In Sunday’s second race, Alexander Sims and Marco Attard put their race one gearbox woes behind them to take a strong but fortuitous win in the #79 Ecurie Ecosse BMW Z4 whilst TF Sport took their maiden British GT victory in GT4 with Andrew Jarman and Devon Modell to cap an impressive season opener for the Avon Tyres British GT Championship at Oulton Park.

Attard crossed the line in front of a hard-charging Jon Minshaw in the #12 Trackspeed Porsche 997 after a seven-minute sprint to the chequered flag following the hour-long race’s second Safety Car period, brought about by a clash taking out the post pit stop race leaders, the #23 United Autosport Audi.
