The live TV coverage of the two Mighty Minis races at Castle Combe did not disappoint the armchair audience.

In typical Mighty Minis fashion the drivers’ raced hard, close and fast in both of the twenty minute sessions providing great excitement for the large Bank Holiday crowd and of course the TV viewers.

Super Mighty Minis headed the packed thirteen race afternoon schedule and as ever they provided the total commitment and racing that spectators have come to expect from these drivers.

Peter Crewes started on pole only to be devoured by the pack as he was suffering from an oil leak. Chris Morgan managed an early lead, but Pat Ford, Gary Patterson, Elliot Stafford and the entire field were intent on taking the honours. Lap after lap the lead changed hands with the Bury St Edmonds driver Elliot Stafford eventually securing his second win of the season.

Reigning champion Louise Inch was the eventual winner in the Standard category after a race long battle with Adrian Tuckley, Peter Tervet, Chris Slade and Stuart Combes, who all held the lead at varying stages of the race. Unfortunately for Combes an electrical fault put paid to his effort whilst heading the pack. However as no driver led for more than a lap it was anyone’s race and Louise showed why she should be taken very seriously in her efforts to retain her title.
