Cadwell Park hosted twelve races last Saturday, as the BRSCC Northern Centre brought their 2014 season to a close.

Ludlow’s Sam Hathaway scored his second and third Mighty Mini wins of the season, coming home ahead of the pack in both outings. In the first race, Sam beat off a fierce challenge from Ade Tuckley, with Charlie Budd completing the podium. Sam had another very close win in race two but this time it was veteran Paul Inch snapping at his heels. Charlie Budd’s consistency bagged him another podium visit in third. Title favourite Ian Slark had a disappointing day results wise, finishing fifth in both races but the good news for him was title rival Paul Rhodes finished behind him on each occasion.

In the Super Mighty Minis, reigning champion Jamie White regained the championship lead from Elliot Stafford with back to back wins. Elliot was just half a second behind in the first race but suffered a DNF in the second tour which has put a huge dent in his title bid. Scott Kendall took advantage to add a P2 to his earlier P3. Daniel Budd made it a good weekend for the Budd brothers taking third place honours in race two.

The two Formula Jedi races produced six different drivers in the top three spots, illustrating just how competitive it is. Cambridge’s Paul Butcher finally took his maiden Jedi win in the first race beating Michael Watton and championship leader Andrew Dunn to the line. Maidstone’s Scott Stevens was the winner of the second race, comfortably ahead of Jack Lang and Dan Clowes.

Our Arrowpak Saloon & Sports car entrants joined forces with the Track Attack Club’s Carbon8 & Activa Consultants Coupe Cup. Danny Keenan won the opening race from fellow Arrowpak racers Andrew Robey and Doug Ellwood. Paul Manyweathers was the first Coupe home and then moved up to third overall in the second race, although he was second Coupe to finish with Adam Lucas ahead of him. Andrew Robey’s BMW M3 was the race winner.

As expected, James Janicki and Adam Lockwood enjoyed a fantastic battle in both Nippon Challenge races and finished in that order in each encounter. Marc Kemp and the Tricolore Trophy’s Simon James shared the P3 spoils.

Grimsby’s Paul Corbridge dominated the YourIrishshop.com MR Racing Series winning both races ahead of Nathan Harrison, although the latter ran him very (very!) close in each race. Mackenzie Taylor and Craig Rankine were the best of the rest, each claiming a P3 trophy.
