If it's got a roof, you can probably race it with the BRSCC ARROWPAK Euro Saloon & Sports Car Championship. We welcome most saloons, coupes and sports cars, the criteria being they should have been sold in the European Union at some time. This definition includes mainstream manufacturers as well as grey imports, personal imports and other low volume routes, and there should be at least one road going example.

BRSCC ARROWPAK Euro Saloon and Sports Car Championship

The Euro Saloon & Sports Car Championship welcomes cars from virtually any manufacturer, with the proviso that there should be at least one road going example registered somewhere within the European union. In 2009 cars from over twenty different manufacturers took to the grid, with representations from Alfa, BMW, Citroen, Daihatsu, Fiat, Ford, Harrier, Honda, Lancia, Lotus, Marcos, Mazda, Nissan, Noble, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Rover, Sakar, Seat, Talbot, Vauxhall and Volkswagen. Even if your car does not meet this rather relaxed criteria we have a discretionary invitation class for suitably interesting cars that meet the spirit of the regulations.

Over seventy registrations in 2009 and buoyant grids prove this concept works, and that there are many drivers who have a race car in their garage and just want a low hassle place to race it. We offer a bargain registration fee of just £120 for those wanting to race for the whole season, and also welcome drivers wishing to make one off appearances with a facility for temporary registration at reduced cost. If you have a car with closed wheels and a roof, chances are you can race with us. Driving standards are good, contact is not at all welcome and the paddock atmosphere is always friendly.

The championship caters for pretty much the same machinery that can race in the likes of Britcar, but at a fraction of the price. Entry fees, tyre and fuel bills are far lower than in endurance racing, as is wear and tear on the car. The championship has become the natural home of retired factory touring cars, for those who remember the proper “super tourers” of the 90’s you will be thrilled to see cars like Cavaliers, Vectras, Accords, Primeras and Mondeos back on track and fighting at the sharp end. Throw into the mix some modern GT cars, like Noble and Lotus as well as a few awesomely powerful Escort Cossies, Scoobies and Mitsubishi Evos, the spectacle at the rolling start makes great viewing and the race winner is always in doubt.

The championship is not just about the powerful front runners, there are five classes consisting of cars classified according to engine size and technical specification, with a sub championship for Renault Clio Cup cars which is sponsored by Renault tuning Guru Mark Fish motor sport. Similarly, a Super Touring Car & Seat Cup' in 2010 will run over eight races, open to any ex-Super Touring, S2000, WTCC, BTCC, STCC, and Seat Cupra, Leon (UK) or Supercopa cars.

Class A caters for some awesome machinery such as Mid and front engined two seater sports or GT cars over 3000cc or with forced induction, Escort & Sierra Cosworth 4wd, Mitsubishi Evo 4wd, Subaru Impreza 4wd, Nissan Skyline 4wd and some FIA classified cars.

Class B is for factory built Touring cars, 2007 onwards model year Seat Cupra challenge cars, and other modifieds over 3500cc.

Class C allows smaller engined modifieds between 1750cc and 3500cc, Mid and front engined two seaters (1600cc to 3000cc normally aspirated), Production modifieds over 3500cc and Production over 6000cc.

Class D accepts Modifieds up to 1750cc, mid and front engined two seaters up to 1600cc, Production modified 2000cc to 3500cc and Production 3500cc to 6000cc.

Class E pits smaller engined Production modifieds up to 2000cc with Production spec cars up to up to 3500cc.

There is also a non-championship invitation Class F available to allow cars meeting the spirit if not the letter of the regulations to race with us on an occasional basis.

The championship enjoys sponsorship from the ARROWPAK Group www.arrowpak.co.uk, who provide logistical and financial support and we present trophies to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each class at every race. Last year the outright champion was Brett Walter with his class D Renault Clio Cup.
