thought through set of setup tweaks. In the right hands it is a championship winning car, I’ve had some great results with it, but I’m no spring chicken and on that note, I’ve moved to historic racing. This MX5 very much a known quantity on the grid.
It’s priced appropriately, given the time and investment put in to actually build a first class example of an MX5. If you want to build one to this spec, starting from scratch, expect a budget of £35-40k. There may be cheaper cars, but they’ll need far more effort and expense to get them running at the front of the grid.
On that note this acquisition would suit a serious, funded and competitive driver who wants to hit the ground running in a top car. Or a gentleman driver / enthusiast who can run a car but doesn’t want the hassle of unpicking the many problems associated with heavily used / previously damaged MX5s.
The car is offered with race, storage, and maintenance support by the original car builder, Phil Brough (via separate negotiation). Phil has built and set up a chassis that is an absolute pleasure to drive. Phil can set the car up for any circuit in the U.K. to give a new driver the optimum settings at each venue. Phil can also offer coaching in order to speed up the learning process if required, and has secure storage / race transportation. Again, if you want to hit the ground running I highly recommend his support!
