It’s back to the coast of North Wales and the beautiful Anglesey Circuit for another North Western Centre meeting that’s set to be stacked full of top quality racing beside the ocean in the Summer!
For all you single seater fans, you’re in luck as there’s a double dose of Formula Fords on display here! First up will be the Avon Tyres National Formula Ford Championship, containing plenty of young racing stars learning their craft in one of the best categories of racing to do so, especially as most will be aiming for the title and that British F4 prize to go with it! Giving them support will be their regional brethren in the Avon Tyres Northern & Super Classic Championship, set to display a wide range of Formula Ford chassis almost spanning the entire lifetime of the category’s history. Whichever one you watch, or even both, you won’t be disappointed as Formula Ford racing is typically thrilling and great fun!
Adding to the regional flavour on the timetable will be the ST-XR Challenge, a superb saloon car championship that frequents Oulton Park and here at Anglesey. Here you’ll see a brilliant display of Ford XR, ST and Si models racing together for overall and class championship honors along with some very enthusiastic drivers and supporters! Their grids have been steadily growing stronger over the last couple of seasons and given how well supported it is in the region, you should expect more of the same here at Anglesey.
They are set to be joined by the BRSCC Fiesta Championship racing with MRF Tyres, which enjoyed racing with the ST-XRs on a combined grid at their opening rounds at Cadwell Park and potentially look set to do the same again. This championship also features Mk6 Fiesta ST150s as well as Mk7 Fiesta Zetec S models, both of which being built to a faster specification and therefore will enjoy racing amongst themselves. Their young counterparts in the excellent BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship racing with MRF Tyres are also fresh from their first race weekend at Cadwell Park, celebrating some incredible racing between the up and coming stars of the future and they’re sure to produce more of the same at Anglesey.
Also, mini-endurance pit stop racing comes to the Welsh coast with the BRSCC Clubsport Trophy, an allcomers-style series that welcomes anything that fits into one of five classes based on power to weight ratio. An entertaining first race of the year at Cadwell means that this weekend’s encounter has a lot to live up to! Also on the same grid will be the new BRSCC CityCar Cup, which as inspired a lot of people up and down the club racing community in the UK. Now with their first race under their belt, the second one beckons for these little pocket rockets!
