COMBE AWAY DAY FOR EURO SALOONS & FIESTAS

Two of the BRSCC’s most well supported championships have been invited to race at the Castle Combe Diamond Anniversary meeting this weekend.

The two day race meeting is one of the most significant ever staged by Combe, as the circuit celebrates its 60th Anniversary.

The circuit has enjoyed a colourful history since it first opened its doors in July 1950 and this weekend's meeting is a celebration of the people and the cars which have made Castle Combe Circuit so popular.

On track, a race for every decade, backed up by a Sunday lunchtime parade of road cars from each era provides nostalgia for all ages. Our Euro Saloons will be racing for the 1990’s Trophy. Nick Hayes from High Wycombe currently sits on top of both the Class C and overall points table in his Seat Cupra.

The Competition Car Insurance/Dunlop Ford Fiesta Championship will be contesting the trophy Combe have put up for the current decade and as ever the Fiestas will field a very strong entry. Tim Bennett leads the Si class from Ed Cockill, whose brother Harry heads the Zetec category. In the ST section Dorking’s Jeremy Gumbley is the man all the others are chasing.

The BRSCC F3 Series also has an away day this weekend, running at BARC's Snetterton two day meeting. It's their first outing since the televised round at Brands Hatch in June. Buoyed by his first ever F3 victory at Brands, Mark Terry will be keen to taste victory again. However, he will face a very strong challenge from Chris Needham who overcame a spectacular collision with Alex Craven in the first Brands race to win the second one, ahead of Alex.
