BRITCAR 24 HOURS RETURNS

CATEGORIES:

The Britcar 24 hours race returns to Silverstone this weekend and racing is already underway in what is the first of three days of competitive action run by the BRSCC Midland Centre.

The race had something of a sabbatical last year with a reduced duration of six hours but is back to its full length version due to the demand by competitors.

Sixty cars took part in this morning’s daytime qualifying session with the Aquilla CR1 piloted by Phil Bennett, Nigel Musthill, Kelvin Burt & Rob Huff setting the early pace. There is a 2 hour night qualifying session this evening at 8pm. Tomorrow there is a morning warm-up session before the race gets underway at 4.30pm.

However, this meeting isn’t all about the Britcar race as there is a wide variety of support races including the penultimate and vital round of the BRSCC Alfashop Alfa Romeo Championship and the first three rounds of the Ma5da MX5 Autumn Championship.

There are also races for the Golf GTi Championship, Porsche Club, the Mono Championship and Sports 2000.
