BRSCC STATEMENT: BILL KIRKPATRICK

It is with great sadness that the BRSCC shares the news of the passing of Bill Kirkpatrick following a medical incident at Oulton Park on 8th June.

Bill was attending the BRSCC Oulton Park race day as a team member, supporting his son Sam who was racing in the Civic Cup Championship. During the event Bill suffered a medical episode and received prompt attention from the on-site medical team. Despite being transferred to the local NHS hospital, it is with regret that we announce he has since passed away.

Bill was a great lover of motorsport, with a rich history as a racer. He began his racing career in a Frazer Nash, travelled Europe with the HGPCA in his Cooper, and also raced his beloved MGBs.

After retiring from racing, his passion for the sport continued through his son Sam, who has won the MG Trophy Championship and the 60th Anniversary MGB race. Bill was immensely proud of Sam’s achievements.

The family has provided the following funeral details:

Date: Friday, 28th June 2024
Time: 11:30 am

Location: St. Bridget’s Church, Brigham CA13 0XH

Everyone involved with the BRSCC extends our heartfelt condolences to Michelle, Sam, and their family.

The BRSCC is in communication with Bill’s family to organise a suitable tribute.
