DAN COLLETT CONFIRMED AS BRSCC SUPERSPORT ENDURANCE CUP COORDINATOR
The British Racing & Sports Car Club is pleased to confirm that Dan Collett has been appointed to the role of Championship Coordinator for the new BRSCC SuperSport Endurance Cup from this season onwards.
Dan has been a key member of the BRSCC’s coordination team for a number of years, with his main previous role being with the BMW Compact Cup Championship. After a couple of years away from the front line, Dan will now take on the new challenge of coordinating the SuperSport Endurance Cup, which will contest its first full championship season this year.
The BRSCC SuperSport Endurance Cup is a brand new championship which brings two hour races featuring a variety of cars across six classes, with a maximum power to weight ratio permitted of 350bhp per tonne. Entries between one to three drivers per car are permitted, along with mandatory pitstops and refuelling. After three successful pilot races at Snetterton and Brands Hatch and taking on feedback from current and prospective drivers, SuperSport Endurance is now ready for a full calendar of events and has also been granted championship status for this year too.
Speaking of his appointment as coordinator, Dan said “From a personal point of view I can’t wait to be back in the paddock for a full season of events again, and I’m grateful to the BRSCC to have been asked to come on board for SuperSport Endurance Cup. I’m excited for our first proper season in 2023 following a couple years of development. The drivers are keen and ready to go, and we’ve built this for them and listened to their feedback in building the Championship. I’m really looking forward to a great season of top class competitive racing”.
BRSCC Chief Operations Officer Paul McErlean added: “I’ve known Dan for many years and have enjoyed working with him throughout that time. He’s always shown superb professionalism and dedication to ensuring championships such as the BMW Compact Cup have been delivered as efficiently and possible for our competitors. Seeing him take charge of the new SuperSport Endurance Cup, I have every confidence that Dan will be a great success as Championship Coordinator and look forward to seeing it flourish under his leadership throughout 2023 and beyond.”
