EMMA PALMER APPOINTED BRSCC MAZDA MX-5 CHAMPIONSHIP & MX-5 CLUBMAN CHAMPIONSHIP COORDINATOR
Ahead of the start of the 2022 race season, the BRSCC is delighted to announce a change of Championship Coordinator for the club’s Mk1 MX-5 Championship and MX-5 Clubman Championship.
Current Championship Coordinator Mandy Andrew will be stepping aside from the role, with her long-term assistant Emma Palmer taking the reigns. Over a number of seasons Emma has proven to be a valuable member of the MX-5 Championship(s) coordinator team, and she is already well known to the majority of teams and drivers for her professionalism and enthusiasm.
Commenting on her promotion to Championship Coordinator, Emma said, “Having been involved in race paddocks for over 4 years, and then with Mandy and the BRSCC in the MX-5 Championships for the past 2 seasons, it is a great privilege to be asked to take on the Championship Coordinator role for both of the club’s Mk1 MX-5 championships. I have learned so much from Mandy since working alongside her, and I am delighted that she trusts me to take over.
The MX-5 paddock is packed full of great people, and I am so looking forward to offering the teams, drivers and racing families the best levels of support through the season.”
On her decision to promote Emma into the Championship coordinator role, Mandy said, “Having taken on some additional responsibilities within the BRSCC, I felt that after around 10 years of involvement, this season would be the right time for me to hand over some of my MX-5 Championship duties, and Emma was right at the top of the list when it came to ideal candidates. She has proven to be an amazing assistant over the past seasons, and she has developed her skills and knowledge to become a real asset to the club and the MX-5 racing community.
I’ll still be around to support Emma and the Mk1 Championships whenever needed, and I’ll be continuing in my role as Championship Coordinator for our Mk3 MX-5 championships as well as developing the Mk4 MX-5 Trophy Series. I wish Emma the very best of success and happiness in her new role, and we’re all looking forward to yet another fantastic season of MX-5 racing!”
