FORD FAIR AT SILVERSTONE

CATEGORIES:

The BRSCC will be showcasing their Ford championships at Silverstone on Sunday ar Ford Fair.

It is a strangely quiet weekend for the BRSCC with no meetings or races on the schedule. However, the Club will be well represented at the annual Ford Fair at Silverstone on Sunday (12thAugust), where Kevin Shortis of Ford Racing UK, is putting together a display of Fords to demonstrate to show visitors what the BRSCC can offer fans of the ‘Blue Oval’.

Commenting on the one-day show Kevin said, “Ford Fair is the biggest event in Europe which is solely for the Ford enthusiast and it usually attracts attendances of up and around 15,000. As with previous years, we have been invited to put on a display of Ford race cars and have been given exclusive track time to demonstrate our cars in action. It is a great opportunity to showcase what the BRSCC has to offer Ford enthusiasts who are looking to go racing”.

There will be an array of around fifteen racing cars on the stand including Ben Wilcox’s Fiesta Junior ST and several Fiestas from Daniels Motorsport, which race in the Dunlop backed senior Fiesta Championship. The CFT Services Ford XR Challenge will also be well represented with leading drivers Tony Rudd, Mike Heath, Steve Poole and Jason Hennefer, amongst others, displaying their XR2s and XR3is.

As an added attraction, Kevin has also managed to line-up an original Ford GT40, owned by Tim Norton, and a genuine Texas Highway Patrol police car.
