LMA MOTORSPORT ANNOUNCED AS BRSCC MAZDA MX-5 CHAMPIONSHIP SUPPORT SPONSOR FOR 2022
The BRSCC is delighted to announce that the Mazda MX-5 Championship will receive support sponsorship for the 2022 season from motorsport and performance parts suppliers LMA Motorsport.
LMA has been a long-standing brand within British motorsport, that can trace its history back to 1990 when it started manufacturing gauge fittings before expanding its range thanks to industry demand. They formed a sister company, Motorsport Engineering in 1995 and began preparing race cars that could go on to succeed in championships such as the Rover Turbo Cup, Vectra Challenge and the VW Cup, before focusing in later years on running and preparing cars in the LMA Euro Saloon & Sports Car Championship run by the BRSCC, which the brand title sponsored for several years.
Motorsport Engineering then took over the distribution of LMA products in 2008, until it rebranded to LMA in 2014. Ownership of the company changed hands in 2018 and it is now overseen by Paul Plant and Emma Karwacki, with Tom Herbert looking after the day to day running.
LMA’s stock of products range from a vast variety of motorsport parts for engines, suspension, brakes, electrical systems, oils and fluids and more, plus an array of tools and equipment, supplies of manufacturer tailored parts including Ferrari, Caterham, Subaru & MINI, as well as a professional fitting service and an in-house rolling road.
For the 2022 season, LMA Motorsport will provide support sponsorship to the MX-5 Championship, which will see the LMA logo present on the windscreen strips and rear number plates of all competing Mk1 race cars within the championship. LMA branding will also be present during live stream coverage of MX-5 Championship races throughout the year, as well as on respective promotional materials and social media graphics and a presence on the BRSCC website too.
Paul Plant, Managing Director, LMA Motorsport “We are excited to announce this joint venture for the future growth of both the BRSCC Mazda championship and LMA Motorsport. After decades of supporting championships, we are pleased to get back to support the heart of motorsport providing affordable parts to one of the most hotly contested championships in the UK. With Mazda’s being about close racing and driver ability, we feel it fits the profile perfectly for what club motorsport stands for and we are proud to be part of it. We look forward to joining forces with the BRSCC MX-5 Championship for the 2022 Season.
Mandy Andrew, BRSCC: “I’m very thankful to Paul, Emma, Tom and everyone at LMA Motorsport for their support of our magnificent Mazda MX-5 Championship. The ability to attract a company with such history in British motorsport as LMA only solidifies just how competitive, how popular and how incredible the championship has become over the last few years and with the 2022 season just around the corner, we’re anticipating more of the same once again. We’re very appreciative and grateful for this partnership with LMA and we’re greatly looking forward to working together throughout the course of the season.”
