SNETTERTON REVIEW

CATEGORIES:

The sun finally shone at Snetterton on Saturday for the BRSCC East Anglian Centre meeting and for what must be the first time in a while, we enjoyed a ‘dry’ meeting!

The visting Cannons Tin Tops from BARC South East got the 13 race schedule underway after all the qualifying had been completed. Andy Woods Dean was the first home at the wheel of a Renault Megane Coupe.

The Ma5da MX5 Championship for MK1’s had five races and the respective winners were Tom Roche with Adam Gore & Jordan Stilp scoring double triumphs.

Roche, however, also celebrated a second win, but this time in the first of three races for the MX5 Mk3 in the Cup Championship. The Welshman was second in race 2, which was won by Rob Boston, but returned a DNF in the last race of the day. Victory in that last race went to the 2009 Formula Ford Festival winner Chrissy Palmer.

In the BARC South East Group 1 races, Ian Butler in a Ford Focus enjoyed back to back wins, with Danny Cassar second in each.

It was a very similar story in the BARC Group 1 races, which featured classes from the Dunlop Motorsport News Saloons and Quaife Intermarque League. Darren Bly’s Nissan Skyline was first across the line in each race with Rod Birley following him home on both occasions.
