SUCCESSFUL MARSHALS’ TRAINING AT SNETT

Marshals new and old headed to Snetterton last Sunday for their annual Training Day organised once again by the BRSCC East Anglian Centre. The training day comprised a mix of classroom and practical sessions, covering a range of subjects from incident intervention, fire handling through to communicating with Race Control.
It would not be possible to run these days without the enthusiastic support of many people and the BRSCC East Anglian Centre would like to express it’s thanks to Advent Motorsport, Fluid Motorsport & SBS Spares for providing cars and props and drivers Garry Findlay & Stuart Brine for assisting with the various practical exercises. Thanks are also due to Motorsport Vision, Jamie Hopper, Barry Hart and all the staff at Snetterton circuit for the provision of the circuit and facilities. The Centre also appreciated the support of Chris Bird, National Training Officer for the British Motorsport Marshals Club & Peter Harding, Chief Marshal for the 750 Motor Club. Commenting after the event Richard Sneader, Leader Trainer for the day, said "The support we get from the teams and drivers is absolutely vital to creating a lively & relevant day for the marshals". Tony Weatherley, who coordinated the setting up of the training day on behalf of the centre committee, added his personal thanks to Andrew Crighton of Advent Motorsport, Lindsay Allen of Fluid Motorsport, Penny Mattocks, Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship Coordinator & Jamie Hopper, Snetterton Circuit Manager for being so accommodating and responsive to his frequent & varied requests for help . A total of 112 Trainee, Track, Experienced and Specialist Marshals received training, whilst a further 31 people were involved in running the day. Post Chiefs & other senior officials have their own Training Day in March. |
