2020 BRSCC FORMULA FORD FESTIVAL ENTRIES OPEN!
After the incredible success of last year’s event, the BRSCC Formula Ford Festival will return once more for its 49th running on October 24/25 2020 at the fabled Brands Hatch Indy circuit in Kent. One of the best-loved single-seater competitions in the world and a launchpad for many stars of F1, sports car and touring car talents, the Festival always delivers top-class racing and is a true favourite for British motorsport fans up and down the country.
The format of the Festival is straightforward – the entry is split into heats which qualify and race together on the Saturday, with a Last Chance Heats race allowing a number of extra drivers to progress to Sunday’s timetable. Those drivers who were lucky enough to make it through then compete in two hotly-contested semi-finals, followed by the dramatic “Last Chance Race” to secure those precious final spots in the Final. Following the Historic Final for older chassis, the main Festival Final is an exciting and thrilling 20-lap shootout.
It’s a race that can produce drama, joy and sorrow, the euphoria of success or the agony of defeat. Every single driver chases the coveted Neil Shanahan Memorial Trophy and a chance to add their name on to the Hall of Fame.
As it was last year, every race on the weekend’s timetable will be live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube, so despite the current restrictions due to the global situation, you can still enjoy this legendary event from the comfort and safety of your own home. Last year’s Festival was deemed a roaring success, with a global audience watching the action on both days which proves that this is an event that still has international appeal.
While there may not be as many overseas drivers anticipated this year due to travel restrictions, those who will compete are certain to give it everything in the search for glory. With both the Classic and Historic Formula Ford championships also joining the timetable, it’s sure to be a true celebration of the category with chassis manufacturers and models set to span the entire history of Formula Ford.
The entry fee for this year’s Festival will once again be £360.00, remaining the same as it did last year and is open to ANY AND ALL Kent-engined Formula Fords – any chassis, any age. Testing is also now available to book via Brands Hatch and MSV, so be sure to get yourself entered and signed up in preparation for what’s set to be another two days of stunning Formula Ford competition.
