After a three-year absence from the domestic motorsport calendar the Britcar Dunlop 24hr race returns to the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit this weekend with the BRSCC Midland Centre & HQ team at the heart of organising the meeting.

The action is already underway with a forty minute warm-up session already having taking place this morning for the thirty-four teams entered in the 24-hour race. The first race of the meeting, for the Production BMW and Toyo Tires Racing Saloons, is scheduled for 12.05 this afternoon.

Two races follow later this afternoon for the MSA British Superkart Championship and Britcar Trophy Championship, before the first day is brought to a close with a ninety-minute night qualifying session for the 24-hour entrants, which will end at 9.15pm.

Saturday brings five more races with the Sports 2000 Championship and the HRDC BTCC cars from 1958 – 1966, joining today’s combatants. After a series of parades, the lunch-break and grid walk, the 24-hours race, backed by Dunlop, gets underway at 4pm.

Away from the track there are fairgrounds, live music, motocross displays and many other activities to keep the spectators entertained over the weekend. The timetable for the meeting can be viewed at Britcar 24-hours

You can still get tickets on the door. Full details can be found at Tickets
