CATERHAMS DESCEND ON OULTON

CATEGORIES:

This Bank Holiday Monday at Oulton Park the BRSCC North Western Centre is running a packed Caterham raceday featuring a total of 9 races for the iconic lightweight sportscar.

Heading the Caterham pack will be over 40 cars in the Drivers Republic Roadsport A Championship, which requires 3 races just to get everyone out on the track! The Roadsport B’s are only just behind in terms of numbers with an impressive 32 of the road legal cars lining up on the grid.

What the Caterham Superlights lack in numbers they make up for in sheer power. The Avon Tyres R400 Championship boasts a 200bhp fire breathing Cosworth engine and is Caterham’s premier race series. Making its Oulton Park debut is the new for 2009 Power Torque backed R300 Championship, which fills a performance gap between the 120bhp Roadsport A and the R400. However, it won’t be just Caterhams roaring round the 2.962 miles of the International circuit as completing the eleven race timetable will be two races for the very popular Club Formula Ford North West Championship, sponsored by Creative LED Solutions. In the Pre 90 Championship Nigel Thompson will be aiming to extend his points lead over Ian Parkington, while in the Post 89 class Simon Kinsey from Holmes Chapel will be hoping to improve on his current 3rd place in the championship table.
