COMPACT CUP & 330 CHALLENGE JOIN BRSCC FOR ’16

CATEGORIES:

A warm welcome to the Club to our latest additions to our roster – the BMW Race Days Compact Cup & new-for-2016 330 Challenge!

It has been announced by both parties today both that the hugely successful BMW Compact Cup Championship and all new 330 Challenge will be racing under the British Racing & Sports Car Club for the 2016 season. The Race Calendar has also been released and it shows that all BMW Compact Cup meetings will be single day events at some of the UK’s most iconic circuits.

Commenting on this news, Paul McErlean, owner of BMW Race Days and Series Coordinator of the BMW Compact Cup Championship said “This is an exciting time for our Championship. We’ve grown our grids rapidly over the past few years, and instead of sitting on our laurels and hoping it continued in the same vein we took the decision to move the Championship to the BRSCC to refresh our offer and add new challenges for our competitors. We feel that the timing of this move is absolutely right for our racers, our sponsors and for the profile of our Championship. It wasn’t the easiest of decisions to move away from 750 Motor Club as they’ve played an important part in the successful development of the formula. I thank 750MC for all of their support in the past, however now is about looking forward to working with the BRSCC to further develop the Championship and the new 330 Challenge. The BRSCC have come up with a great looking race calendar for us, and drivers are already looking forward to this new chapter”

Commenting on behalf of the BRSCC, Competitions Manager Dominic Ostrowski was equally enthusiastic. ”We are proud that the BMW Compact Cup Championship has chosen the BRSCC for the next stage of their development. Over the last few seasons it has proven to be a very professional and well supported series and it will be a welcome addition to our portfolio. We look forward to working with Paul, his team and competitors next season.”

With maximum grids and some of the closest and most competitive club racing available, it’s clearly a partnership that is intent on not just maintaining the status quo, but to pushing the already successful Championship to new levels!
