This is it – the all-important final weekend of another Intelligent Money British GT Championship. A weekend where either a forgone conclusion will be confirmed, or surprises will be sprung and the fate of both GT3 and GT4 titles will be settled in dramatic fashion. It is of course the now iconic #DoningtonDecider at Donington Park.
In previous years, the final round has always produced a thrilling conclusion to the season and 2022 was one of the most heart-stopping for years, with Ian Loggie recovering from a first corner incident and then a spin before handing over to Jules Gounon to see him take 2nd place and help him clinch the GT3 title. Richard Williams and Sennan Fielding also pulled off the great escape in GT4 too, managing to snatch the title on the last day of the campaign.
Donington’s natural flowing nature lends itself well to GT racing, especially with the long corners allowing both classes to use all the grip and pace available to them. Being in October, temperatures will be lower which can play havoc with grip levels and tyres if they fall too low. No matter the external factors, one thing is certain – you will not want to miss a second of what could be another #DoningtonDecider for the ages!
