The wait is over and the long off-season over the winter is at an end – spring time in April on Easter weekend means only one thing. The cars and stars of the Intelligent Money British GT Championship come back out of hibernation to kick start the 2023 season at its traditional launching point – Oulton Park in Cheshire.
With the covers taken off all participating cars and driver line-ups confirmed, the British GT paddock touches down at Oulton Park ready for the opening pair of 1 hour sprint races to get underway. The fast, yet winding and narrow nature of Oulton’s International layout means that overtaking opportunities are at a premium and it takes a brave driver to commit to a pass on any corner here. 2022 saw an epic duel for victory in GT3 between the Audi of Adam Carroll and the Mercedes of Jules Gounon, the pair going wheel to wheel all the way to the chequered flag. One has to wonder whether this year’s season opener will be just as exciting!
