It all comes down to this – while Silverstone took over as the season finale in 2020, it’s back to the usual #DoningtonDecider to seal the fates of both the GT3 and GT4 titles in the British GT Championship for 2021. Every time the season finishes on the Donington Park GP circuit, it always produces a dramatic conclusion. Just remember what happened in 2019 when late drama involving Jonny Adam and Dennis Lind meant the GT3 title had to be decided in the stewards room! It will be a race that will cause both joy and heartbreak at the end of what should have been a ultra-competitive season and all things considered, we should know who will walk away from this final race as the 2021 champions!
A superb addition to the timetable for this weekend will be the Nankang Tyre BMW Compact Cup, who return to the Donington Park GP circuits almost a month after their visits on the previous rounds. Supporting British GT, this will be a great chance for some of the more career-minded drivers in the field to prove themselves in front of some of the GT team bosses as well as entertain the spectators around the circuit. Wherever it goes, the Compact Cup is always a thrilling series to watch, making it a fantastic additional element to this all-important final weekend for British GT!
