The 2026 season shifts gears as the Classic Mini Racing Championship head to the ultra-fast Castle Combe for Round 2 on Monday 4 May. Following a high-intensity opening weekend at Oulton Park, the championship arrives in Wiltshire with the standings incredibly tight and momentum building across the field.
After two competitive races at the season opener, the iconic circuit, famous for its high-speed commitment and slipstreaming battles that rewards bravery and precision offers a unique challenge that could shake up the early order.
At the forefront of the action, Neven Kirkpatrick holds a narrow lead at the top of the table with 24 points. Neven showed incredible racecraft at Oulton Park, notably charging from 9th on the grid to take victory in Race 2. However, the chasing pack is right on his bumper; Steven Rideout and David Kirkpatrick currently sit tied for second, just 3 points adrift. Elsewhere, Dave Rees and Will Burnham will be looking to capitalize on their top-ten finishes from Oulton Park to bridge the gap to the leading trio.
With tight battles already forming throughout the pack, Round 2 promises to deliver non-stop action. Join us this Bank Holiday Monday to see who will conquer one of the fastest circuits in the UK!
