Geri Nicosia has had his Fiesta Junior race win in round 7 at Cadwell Park on Sunday 15th June re-instated after the Motor Sports Council’s National Court found his appeal in his favour on Tuesday.
Geri initially won the race by almost 14 seconds from Thomas Grundy, but at post-race scrutineering his car failed the ride height test and he was subsequently excluded. At Tuesday’s hearing, Geri’s father Trevor successfully argued that the car only failed the check due to damage to a holding bracket sustained during the race following an impact from another car.
The full verdict of the court can be read here MSC National Court verdict.
Geri’s points for the race win have now been credited to his total and those for the other six finishers have duly been amended. Geri now leads the championship by 9 points from Robert Cox, so allied to his two wins at Donington last weekend, it has been a very good week for the 15 year-old from Princes Risborough.
