Mark Webber was presented with the BRSCC John Nicol Trophy at Silverstone on Saturday by Debs Nicol, the widow of John, and the BRSCC’s Competitions Director, Drew Furlong.

Mark was named as the winner of the Club's premier trophy in recognition of his long and successful F1 career and his overall contribution to motorsport. Unfortunately, he was unable to attend the Awards Dinner Dance in February so his first appearance for the Porsche team at the BRSCC run 6-hours FIA WEC race at Silverstone was the perfect opportunity to make the presentation.

On receiving the award Mark said, " I am honoured to receive such a prestigious trophy and join the impressive list of previous winners."

The BRSCC Trophy was made by Roy James whilst serving time for his part in the 1963 ‘Great Train Robbery’ and was renamed in 2001 in memory of John Nicol, who as Chief Executive of the Club in the nineties, played a key role in the BRSCC's development.

taking the Alongside team-mates Timo Bernhard & Brendon Hartley, Mark made a successful WEC debut in the Porsche 919 Hybrid taking the final podium position in the race, which was curtailed by 24 minutes due to heavy rain.
