Britain’s best-supported one-make saloon series, the APR Volkswagen Racing Cup, has a new championship co-ordinator for 2012. She is Gemma Mole, who joins series promoter Volkswagen Racing UK from MotorSport Vision Racing.
Welcoming her to the team, Volkswagen Racing UK and RacingLine Director Sam Roach said: “Gemma is joining the championship at an exciting time in its development and will bring valuable skills with her from MSVR.”
Mole started working in motorsport in 1999, at Brands Hatch. She joined MSVR as competition secretary and administrator in 2007 and later added to her duties the role of joint co-ordinator of the Club MSV Trackday Trophy.
“I am thrilled to now be part of the RacingLine team and am excited to be working with the teams and drivers of the APR Volkswagen Racing Cup,” said Gemma.
It was announced last month that the Volkswagen Racing Cup would enter the 2012 season with a new title sponsor – US Volkswagen Group tuning specialist APR, which has set up its European headquarters in Milton Keynes alongside those of Volkswagen Racing UK.
The championship is about to enter its 13th season and is the sole saloon-racing supporting event to British GT and British F3. This year the championship will also race at Brands Hatch alongside the German touring car championship and at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium as a supporting event to the 25-hour Fun Cup. The action gets underway at Oulton Park over Easter.
