NATIONAL MOTORSPORT WEEK

CATEGORIES:

The annual National Motorsport Week starts tomorrow. The week is an initiative from the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) and the Motorsport Foundation, which generates funds for good causes to develop the UK motorsport industry and the sport.

This year it happens to fall during what is relatively a quiet time for the BRSCC. We are not running a meeting anywhere this weekend and nor are any of our championships guesting at another club’s event.

However, as part of National Motorsports Week competitors from the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship will be showcasing their talents at Silverstone on Sunday at Ford Fair, billed as Europe's biggest and best Ford festival.

More than 3,500 Ford road cars will be on display, and the Formula Ford teams will be demonstrating their prowess with track runs as well as meeting event visitors and offering them the chance to win tickets for the next championship rounds, at Silverstone over the weekend of 14/15 August, a meeting which will be run by the BRSCC.

"Ford Fair is a brilliant way to meet enthusiasts for the marque who might not otherwise get the opportunity to see a Formula Ford in action," said championship manager Penny Mattocks. Tickets for Ford Fair can be bought online via the event website at FORD FAIR

The other meeting run by the Club during the period of National Motorsports Week is a North Western Centre raceday at Oulton Park on Saturday 14th August. To give spectators an interesting insight into how a race meeting is run the North western Centre will be offering a limited number of fans a ‘behind the scenes tour’ of Race Control at Oulton Park.
