The introduction of the new EcoBoost-powered chassis to Formula Ford brought not only some exciting racing but also promoted a new team to the top of the championship standings – JTR, whose leader Antti Buri won eight races in the first half of the season to establish an early points lead.

Jamun Racing – champions from 2005 to 2011 inclusive – fought back in style with Argentina’s Eric Lichtenstein claiming 11 race wins but failed to prevent Finland’s Buri from claiming the champion’s crown. Jamun driver Jake Cook won two races to take championship second, just ahead of Lichtenstein. The season’s other race winners were Luke Williams and Julio Moreno, the latter winning the EcoBoost rookie title.

In the Duratec class, Mexico’s Fabian Welter won 13 times for Rendez-Vous Racing but the class championship title nonetheless went the way of Fluid Van Diemen driver Matt Rao. Duratec class wins were taken also by Kenneth Thirlwall, Olly Rae, George Blundell and Alex Drabble. Enigma Motorsport’s Blundell claimed the Duratec Rookie class winner’s title.
