After the frantic ‘three-meeting’ weekend last week, this weekend was a strangely quiet one for the BRSCC, with just the Midland Centre involved in running an event. That was of course the prestigious International GT Open meeting which took place on the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.
Saturday’s 70-minute feature race was won by the TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage V12 pairing of Darren Turner and Jody Fannin. The English duo dominated from the start of qualifying until the chequered flag. Maxime Soulet and Francesco Pastorelli, piloting the V8 Racing Corvette #4 took second, ahead of the Autorlando Sport Porsche driven by Joel Camathias-Matteo Beretta.
Sunday’s race was 10-minutes shorter and victory went the way of Daniel Zampieri and Roman Mavlanov in their SMP Racing Russian Bears team prepared Ferrari F458. The Fannin-Turner partnership had to make do with second place this time, ahead of SRT Corvette of Isaac Tutumlu and Archie Hamilton.
