The Avon Tyres British GT Championship welcomes back Sunoco as its official fuel and lubricants partner for the 2015 season.
Anglo American Oil Company Ltd's race fuel division already supplies more than 22 different race series across the UK and Europe with high quality Sunoco Race fuels. After three years away Sunoco is now set to return to the blue riband national championship that helped forge its reputation for quality and performance.
As well as powering the entire British GT grid, the partnership will see Sunoco branding appear on all cars, driver overalls and trackside signage. British GT and Sunoco will also be working closely on cross-promotional opportunities throughout the season.
What’s more, all British GT drivers will be eligible to score Sunoco Whelen Challenge (GT3) or Sunoco 200 Challenge (GT4) points that count towards prize drives during the Daytona 24 Hours race weekend.
Anders Hildebrand, MD of Anglo American Oil Company Ltd said, “We are extremely pleased to again become the official fuel supplier of the British GT Championship. It was our first control fuel series back in 2001 and has been instrumental in the growth of Anglo American Oil Company. It feels as if we have come home again and we are really looking forward to working with the drivers, teams and SRO. British GT will also be a welcome addition to the Sunoco Whelen Challenge and the Sunoco 200 Challenge.”
British GT Championship Series Manager Benjamin Franassovici was equally enthusiastic about the reunion,“I’m delighted to welcome back Sunoco as British GT’s official fuel and lubricants supplier. We have prior experience of their dedication and ability to produce fantastic racing products, so re-signing with them was a no-brainer for us. This partnership also opens up new commercial opportunities, including greater involvement with the Sunoco Challenge, which really appeals to our drivers. All in all it’s a great move for British GT.”
The opening round of this season’s Avon Tyres British GT Championship takes place at Oulton Park over Easter Bank Holiday weekend (April 4-6).
