The 2013 BRSCC Mazda MX-5 champion, Tom Roche, has today confirmed he will be contesting the remaining rounds of the 2014 BRSCC Mazda MX-5 SuperCup.

Following his non-appearance at the opening round of the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship to defend his title, Roche confirmed that he is looking for a fresh challenge. “I was approached by the organisers of the SuperCup at Silverstone and I was lucky enough to be able to arrange a guest drive in the second SuperCup race in one of Paul Sheard’s cars. Having finished fourth I knew then that if I was going to compete in anything this year then it would have to be the SuperCup. Looking at the races from last season and the depth of talent at the front of the grid this year, I know that this is the logical step for me to take” commented Roche.

Roche will again run under his own Blendini Motorsport banner and is hopeful that he will be joined by some stable-mates in the forthcoming events. Roche added “What the BRSCC have managed to do with the SuperCup in just twelve months is amazing. We are now getting serious enquiries from competitors looking to join the SuperCup grid. I would not be surprised if Blendini are running at least three cars by the end of the season.”

Roche will enter the fray at Brands Hatch this coming Saturday (3rd May) when the SuperCup has a double header at the MG Car Club meeting on the Indy Circuit.
