LYNDSAY CLOSE APPOINTED BRSCC CITYCAR CUP SERIES COORDINATOR
The BRSCC is delighted to announce today that Lyndsay Close will take over the full-time role of Series Coordinator for their exciting new CityCar Cup Series.
Lyndsay has been involved in the BRSCC paddock for a number of years, beginning her association as part of her own Close Racing team before joining the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 coordination lineup from the 2016 season. Since then, she has become a regular part of many race weekends, assisting Mandy Andrew and her fellow race day coordinators. At the beginning of 2020, it was announced that following Mandy’s promotion into the role of BRSCC Deputy Race Operations, Lyndsay would move into the role of championship coordinator for both the Mazda MX-5 Championship and Mazda MX-5 SuperCup, however she will now relinquish that role to concentrate fully on the role of Series Coordinator of the new BRSCC CityCar Cup for the remainder of 2020 and beyond.
Speaking of her appointment, Lyndsay said “I’m always very grateful to be entrusted by any role provided to me by the BRSCC and this is no exception. I have to say a massive thank you to the club for giving me the opportunity to showcase my abilities as a coordinator with such a fantastic new series as the CityCar Cup. I also have to give thanks to Mandy who has been an oracle of knowledge and a constant provider of help and assistance since I began working within the paddock. I know that everyone involved with the CityCar Cup is excited ahead of its first full season in 2021 and I will absolutely make the most of this opportunity to lead them going forwards.”
Mandy Andrew added “Having worked alongside her for five years, I know what Lyndsay is capable of as a coordinator and this new challenge to lead such an important new series as the CityCar Cup is one I know she will relish. I’m very proud of everything Lyndsay has achieved so far and I know that she will bring further success to the CityCar Cup through the remainder of 2020 and onwards into next year.”
On handing over the coordinator’s reigns to Lyndsay, outgoing series coordinator Greg Graham said “Having Lyndsay taking over this key role shows the high level of trust that the club and myself have in her abilities. I am personally delighted that Lyndsay has accepted the position, and I look forward to working closely with her to ensure that the development and growth of the series continues”.
