2CV RACING CLUB AT KNOCKHILL

11 July 2026 - 12 July 2026

The Classic 2CV Racing Championship heads north of the border as the grid descends upon the undulating Knockhill Circuit on 11-12 July. The opening four rounds have already shown just how unforgiving and competitive this Championship can be, and Round 4 was no exception, producing two of the most dramatic finishes of the year and leaving the title race wide open going into the second half of the season. Knockhill’s narrow, technical layout should only intensify the rivalry that has defined the campaign so far.

A Title Fight Refusing to Settle

Nick Crispin took pole for race one edging out Ethan Sparrow and Seb Jones-White by just 0.400 seconds snd proving why he is the Reigning Champion. The opening laps saw Crispin and Sparrow pull clear at the front, but it didn’t take long for Andrew Bull and Jones-White to start eating into that gap, with the pair combining their pace to climb into third and fourth inside the first three laps. By lap five, Crispin’s lead had stretched to 1.375 seconds, yet the chasing duo were already closing in fast, sweeping Sparrow up in their pursuit along the way.

What unfolded next was a four-way fight for the ages. Positions shuffled constantly at the front as Bull and Jones-White worked together to reel in the leader, with Bull eventually taking over at the top on lap 10 as the top four were squeezed inside 0.579 seconds of one another. The destiny of the race ultimately hinged on the final lap, when contact between Sparrow and Crispin pitched the champion into the gravel trap at Luffield, handing Sparrow his first win of the campaign. There was late heartbreak for Jones-White too, his race undone by a fuel shortage at Becketts that robbed him of a finish despite leading much of the early running.

If race one had been close, race two somehow topped it. Jones-White held the lead at the end of lap one with the top four packed inside a single second, before Brian Heerey produced a remarkable charge, jumping from fifth to second in the space of one lap. At the head of the field, Bull and Jones-White had carved out a healthy advantage, but it disappeared almost as quickly as it had arrived. With two laps left, the top seven were bunched together within 0.647 seconds, setting the scene for a thrilling sprint to the line. Bull made his move stick at Woodcote to take victory by a mere 0.013 seconds over Sparrow, who himself crossed the line just 0.076 seconds clear of the chasing group. The top seven finishers were separated by a remarkable 0.549 seconds in total, making it one of the tightest finishes the championship has ever produced.

Looking Ahead to Knockhill

With four different winners across the opening rounds, and a championship table still bunched tightly together; Knockhill arrives at a genuinely pivotal stage of the 2026 season. The Scottish venue’s blind crests and sharp changes of elevation will throw up a very different challenge to anything seen so far, putting a premium on both bravery and precision. Judging by the closing laps of Round 4, fans can expect the same recipe at Knockhill. Tight, wheel-to-wheel racing and a finish that could easily come down to fractions of a second. Crispin will be eager to turn his pace into results, Bull and Jones-White will want to prove their breakthrough wins were no fluke, and the Sparrow name continues to make its mark on the championship. All signs point to another unmissable weekend when the Classic 2CV grid arrives in Fife on 11-12 July.
