2025 BRSCC CLAPHAM NORTH WINTER ESPORTS MOVES ON TO DONINGTON PARK
The 2025 BRSCC Clapham North Winter eSports Series makes its second stop on the five-event calendar and the first of the season to a UK race track, as the fast and flowing Donington Park GP circuit plays host to an anticipated 30+ strong field on BMW M2 CS Racing cars sporting a wide spectrum of regular racers of BRSCC championships and series.
At the season opening event at Circuito de Navarra in Spain, where 30 drivers kicked off the new campaign in fine style, the early advantage went to Bromley Motorsport’s James Dennison who landed two victories to help him head to Donington as the early points leader. He will be hoping to once again set the pace, but the nature of Donington is somewhat different to that of Navarra, and many others in the field are expected to have made progress since the first races.
He’s only just ahead of the two Clapham North team cars, with Matt Kendall in 2nd and Will Blackwell-Chambers in 3rd. Kendall was Dennison’s nearest challenger in the first two races, hounding him for the lead but unable to slip past both times, but did manage to finish ahead of him in race three thanks to the partially reversed top ten. As for Blackwell-Chambers, he picked up the other victory on the night, ensuring the top three drivers were covered by just two points.
Isaac Doble rounded off his Navarra evening with a P2 in race three and goes to Donington fourth in the standings, ahead of Thomas Merritt who impressed in one of the two T12 eSports cars on the grid this season. Merritt currently holds P5 and is second best of the “junior” drivers behind Doble, with these two sure to have a score to settle.
In the second half of the top five, Pete Smith is sixth in the second Bromley Racing machine, while Ari Barker is best of the two Team Northbrook Racing cars after team boss Richard Jepp has mixed fortunes on the night, especially in race three when spins and incidents left him finishing low down in the field. Barker is seventh heading to Donington ahead of Tom Griffiths, Benjy Douglass and Tom Monhemius, all of which were constant presences in the top ten all evening.
Donington Park sees a handful of drivers make their season debuts after missing the opening round, with the Mazda MX-5 duo of Luke Pullen and Jack Noller expected to be on the grid this evening. The pair are keen sim racers as well as in the real world and will be hoping to hit the ground running from the outset.
