BRSCC PRODUCES AN EARLY SUMMER SNETTERTON SIZZLER
Under sunny skies, the BRSCC made a second visit of the season to the Snetterton circuit recently (17/18 May), with many of its popular and best supported championships out in force for an entertaining two days of racing in Norfolk. The timetable featured Mazda MX-5s, Audi TTs, saloons, hot hatches and endurance racing – Snetterton truly had it all!
Ali Bray continued his dominant 2025 campaign in the Kent Models Mazda MX-5 Championship with a clean sweep at Snetterton, making it nine wins from nine. Race one set the tone with a thrilling battle between Bray and Adam Sparrow that saw the lead change multiple times, with Steve Foden also in the mix. Bray made a decisive move on the final lap at Brundle/Nelson to snatch the win by just over a tenth, with Foden third, William Chadwick fourth, and Adam Craig inheriting fifth after a penalty for Richard Wootten.
Bray then showed control and consistency in races two and three, recovering from briefly losing the lead in both to take commanding victories. In race two, he reclaimed top spot from Foden and edged clear, while in the final race he executed a bold pass around the outside at Agostini before pulling away to win by over five seconds. Foden added two more second-place finishes, while Adam Sparrow stormed from 25th to third in race three in a standout drive. Wootten and Chisnall were also regulars inside the top five throughout the weekend.

The Clapham North Mazda MX-5 Clubman Championship brought two fiercely competitive races to Snetterton, with battles right through the lead pack. In race one, Jack Warry led early from pole, but it was Jonny Greensmith and Jordan Pimley who quickly charged into contention. The top five were locked in a constant exchange of positions, with Pimley making his decisive move late on to grab the win under pressure. Greensmith followed him home in second, Warry took third, and penalties for track limits shuffled the order behind them, promoting Harry Deane and Martin Tolley into the top five.
Race two delivered even more drama. Pimley led from the outset and looked set for a double victory, pulling out a strong lead heading onto the final lap. But a five-second track limits penalty dropped him to fourth at the flag, handing victory to Greensmith — his first of the season. Warry and Jon Pethick completed the podium after a close scrap, while Jake Paice bounced back from an off-track moment to claim fifth. Another penalty for Tolley shuffled the midfield once again, highlighting just how fine the margins were across a tightly contested weekend.

Will Blackwell-Chambers completed a perfect weekend at Snetterton in the Clapham North Mazda MX-5 SuperCup, extending his winning run with three more victories. Race one featured a fierce fight between Blackwell-Chambers and Ollie Hall, with the two going side-by-side multiple times before WB-C edged clear in the closing stages to take the win. Thomas Langford pressured both but had to settle for third, while Alistair Dendy claimed fourth. Sam Middleton was once again untouchable in the Club Class, finishing fifth overall and well ahead of Jim Barratt and Clive Powles.
Race two saw Blackwell-Chambers control the pace from the front, gradually pulling away as Langford and Hall chased. Langford looked threatening but dropped back late on, allowing WB-C to win comfortably. Middleton continued his strong form, finishing fourth overall and securing another dominant Club Class win. Hall completed the podium, with Dendy rounding out the top five. In race three, Hall, Langford and Blackwell-Chambers ran nose-to-tail throughout, but a five-second track limits penalty for Langford reshuffled the order. WB-C inherited victory to complete the clean sweep, with Hall second and Dendy third. Middleton again topped the Club Class and finished an impressive fourth overall.

Matt Luff continued his strong start to the 2025 Demon Tweeks Audi TT Cup Racing Championship with two wins from three at Snetterton, keeping his title challenge firmly on track. He dominated race one from pole, gradually pulling away from Jordan Stilp to win comfortably, while Ross Makar closed in late but settled for third. Andrew Rogerson climbed from sixth to fourth, and Luke Handley rounded out the top five after a close midfield battle.
Race two saw Luff and Stilp go head-to-head again, with Stilp capitalising on a rare mistake from Luff to lead early. But Luff responded with a decisive pass at Wilson Hairpin to retake control and secure back-to-back victories. Makar grabbed another podium in third, while Rogerson and Sam Heading – who charged from the back of the grid – completed the top five. In race three, Heading made the most of a strong start and climbed from sixth to take victory, fending off intense late pressure from Luff to win by just 0.269 seconds. Charlie Budd secured a well-earned podium in third, followed by Stilp and Rogerson, who overcame a time penalty to stay inside the top five.

The PBS Brakes SuperSport Endurance Cup race at Snetterton delivered a little bit of everything — early dominance, mid-race twists, and a dramatic closing stint. Kevin Clarke and Aldo Riti looked set for a lights-to-flag victory after storming clear from pole in their BMW, only for a mechanical issue to derail their charge just after the pit window opened. That handed the lead to Chris Murphy, who had yet to stop but was flying on pace alone. With contenders like William Lynch and the Evans/Hudson/Parkes trio closing in, the second half of the race became a tactical battle.
Once Murphy completed his final stop, Lynch briefly moved back into the lead but lost time with a suspected off, allowing Murphy to respond and reassert control. A composed final stint sealed him the overall win and top honours in Pro-A. Elsewhere, James Alford took Pro-C class victory with fifth overall in his Audi TT. Ricky Coomber claimed Clubman-A in his Civic, Alistair Lindsay took Clubman-B in another Audi TT, and David Drinkwater and Adam Read brought home Clubman-C glory in their BMW Compact.

Chris Earle became the first double race winner in the 2025 Fix A Wheel Production Cup after a dominant showing at Snetterton, claiming both overall victories and Class A honours in his Honda Civic. In race one, Earle led home Matt Hollier’s Renault Clio, who also took the Class B win. Colin Dunn topped Class C, Adam Chafer claimed Class D in his Peugeot 206, and Oliver Barsby completed the overall top five. Class wins also went to Jaree Coulson in Class D, Matt Footman’s Ford Puma in Class E, and Brady Pollock in Class F. In the Silverlake DS3 Cup, Elliot Lettis kept his perfect record alive, winning again ahead of Theo Longman and Charlie Budd.
Race two followed a similar pattern, with Earle again leading the way from start to finish to seal his second overall and Class A win of the day. Hollier repeated his earlier Class B success in second overall, while Dunn remained consistent with another strong run. Class victories were also taken by Adam Chafer (C), Barny Francis (D), Matty Footman (E), and Brady Pollock (F). The Silverlake DS3 Cup class saw Lettis go four-for-four this season, this time finishing ahead of Ralph Budd and Theo Longman in another commanding display.
The Ricci Concept Classic VW Cup and Hickford Construction MG Metro Cup delivered two lively combined-grid races at Snetterton, with Ken Lark taking a clean sweep in the VW contest. In race one, Lark powered his Corrado to victory ahead of Carey Lewis in a Mk5 Golf and Tony Absolom’s Mk2. Chris Adams (Mk4) and Donald Dewar (Mk1) rounded out the top five in a diverse field. Lark repeated the result in race two, holding off Absolom and Lewis once again, while Dewar and Paul Hoggins (Audi TT) completed the top five in another strong outing for the Classic VW contenders.

Over in the MG Metro Cup, race one honours went to Matthew Simpson, who fended off Tim Shooter and Mike Williams for the win. In race two, Shooter bounced back to take victory with a drive that put him 14th overall in the combined field, ahead of Richard Garrard and Carl Wheaton. Dick Trevett and Williams rounded out the top five. With battles throughout the field and cars from different eras sharing the circuit, the combined grid delivered a packed spectacle across both races.

The Uncle Luke’s Snetterton Saloons brought a full 45 minutes of intense pit stop action to Snetterton, with Jas Sapra and Bryan Brandon emerging as the overall winners. Their consistent pace and clean strategy saw them lead home the Payne/Hill duo in a rapid Lotus Evora, while Tommy Grout’s BMW secured third after a strong solo drive. Rounding out the top five were Martin Ward and Luke Allen, both putting in solid performances in their Honda Civics to cap off a competitive endurance-style race.
