BMW COMPACT CUP TO SUPPORT BRITISH GT AT DONINGTON PARK IN OCTOBER 2021

The BRSCC are delighted to announce that the club have secured a supporting role for The Nankang Tyre BMW Compact Cup Championship, at the Intelligent Money British GT Championship meeting scheduled for the weekend of 16th & 17th of October at Donington Park on the Grand Prix layout. This meeting will replace the recently cancelled March Oulton Park meeting, and will again ensure a full 16 round season for Compact Cup competitors.

As a result of the fantastic working relationships with MSV and SRO Motorsports / British GT, the club are proud to have secured this valuable weekend support slot, which provides the opportunity for the Compact Cup Championship to be showcased at this prestigious Intelligent Money British GT meeting.

With this now becoming the final Compact Cup meeting of the season, it means we may even see a championship decider taking place as well. If all of that wasn’t enough…to add even more excitement, with qualifying and a 15 minute race scheduled for the Saturday, the final race of the season on the Sunday will follow an extended 30 minute format!

Commenting on behalf of the club, BRSCC Chief Operating Officer Paul McErlean said, “For all of the obvious reasons, trying to secure our 2021 race meeting calendar has been extremely challenging, and even more so when major series such as BTCC and British GT make changes that directly affect us. We will however, continue to do everything in our power to ensure that BRSCC Members are delivered the very best race season possible. We are delighted to be able to place the Nankang Tyre BMW Compact Cup Championship with British GT for this meeting, and we’re sure everyone involved with the championship will enjoy it greatly!”.
