The BRSCC Midland Centre had an extremely busy three days at Silverstone last weekend but the LMS meeting went like clockwork and they can certainly be proud of the efficient and professional way in which the Centre ran the meeting.

On the track it was a great weekend for Peugeot. Team Peugeot Total took a strong overall victory thanks to Nicolas Minassian and Anthony Davidson in the 908 HDi-FAP diesel sportscar, the latter taking a brief sabbatical from his F1 punditry on BBC 5 Live.

Close behind were the Team ORECA Matmut’s pairing of Frenchmen Nicolas Lapierre and Stéphane Sarrazin, also in a Peugeot 908 HDi-FAP. Second step on the podium was enough to secure the 2010 Teams’ title and Sarrazin the drivers’ crown, his second time as champion. Lady luck has not very often sided with owner and team-manager Hugues de Chaunac, who finally got his reward in the LMP1 class after many years of hard work and commitment in sportscar racing.

In the LMP2 class there was another emphatic win for Strakka Racing, beating Quifel ASM into second place by almost exactly a minute after a great fight. Despite a one-second stop & go penalty and a contact with another competitor, Jonny Kane, Nick Leventis and Danny Watts had enough to dominate the class.
